Plumbing in a city of lakes and Semoran Boulevard
Casselberry has more than 30 lakes and ponds, including Lake Howell, Lake Kathryn, Lake Concord and the Triplet Chain of Lakes. Lakeside yards often stay soggy after storms, so a wet patch is not always a broken pipe. A meter test tells you which it is before anyone digs.
The city draws its water from wells in the Floridan Aquifer, and the City of Casselberry Utilities Department reports it does not have lead service lines. Aeration cuts sulfur odor, and orthophosphate is added for corrosion control. That describes the city supply, not the pipes inside your house, so if you notice odor or staining at one tap, we check the fixture and the line behind it.
Fern Park Estates, begun in 1925, is one of the older parts of the city. The city grew fastest in the 1960s and 1970s, so many homes likely date from the 1960s to 1980s, though the county property appraiser record shows the true build year of yours. Older homes tend to have older shutoff valves, and a stuck valve is worth replacing before the day you need it.
Our office sits on SR 436, Semoran Boulevard, the main east-west commercial corridor, and US 17-92 is the main north-south route through town.
